It's good to bee three Manning
It’s good to bee three 🐝
We had planned an insect party for Manning and his friends, however due to pandemic restrictions we were only able to celebrate with immediate family. Together we still dressed up and made it as special as we could.
Something that Manning gets from me is his unfiltered honesty. His birthday started with Maple giving him a beautiful card that she handmade, with a drawing of a bee and Buzz Lightyear, two of his favourite things, she wrote a lovely message inside the card which she read to him. Manning’s response was ‘I hate it!’... My heart broke for Maple! 😭
He lost interest in the piñata which took a while to crack open. He asked ‘Where’s more presents?’ after opening the last present for the day. He let us know we sang the birthday song too loud.
One thing he (thankfully) loved was his bee cake! A cake that we made together from our favourite @bakebelieveau The day before his birthday he opened the fridge around 100 times to check on it, smell it and pop his little finger in the icing. It brought him so much joy!
We shared a lovely iso day, with lots of laughs, cuddles, balloon games, FaceTime calls with family, he received many thoughtful gifts, which entertained him all day, we watched the Bee Movie with popcorn and ate dad and Manning’s favourite pizza for dinner.
I asked him this morning if he had a nice birthday yesterday. He brutally let me know ‘No!’. I secretly think he did.
